We’re so excited to be collaborating with Somer from South Bay Wishcraft to bring a beautiful Japanese art form to the studio — Kinusaiga, the art of fitting fabric pieces together like a puzzle to create a stunning image. No sewing, no glue guns, just gorgeous fabric and your own creative eye, coming together into a one-of-a-kind sunrise scene.
Whether you’re drawn to bold reds and golds, soft pinks and purples, or moody blues and jewel tones, you’ll have a huge selection of fabrics to choose from. Every ray, every wave, and that glowing sun in the center is entirely your call — no two sunrises will look the same.
What’s included:
🧵 Your padded board & fabric selection: A wide variety of prints, solids, and colors to design your own sunrise sky and sea.
🎨 Fitting & Tucking: Learn the Kinusaiga technique of cutting and tucking fabric edges into the board for a raised, textured finish — no sewing required.
⚒️ Guided Design: Somer will help you plan your color palette and layout so every ray radiates just right.
👨🏻🏫 Guided instruction: This technique is new to most people — we’ll walk you through every fold and tuck, no experience needed!
